well, my Felpro 1262 gasket kit just arrived from VPW, not what I expected, but I didn't know exaclty what was in it, only had lower manifold to head gaskets, distributor seal and lower manifold end seals in it, obviously I need another kit for the upper to lower manifold and throttle body, what kit should I be looking for to suite a cobra manifold. and would it be benificial to try and source a phenolic spacer as well

anywhere I can source them online, or an idea of part numbers for gaskets I should be looking for, I can make them, done that plenty of times, b ut I'd rather have the real deal.

you should see the manifolds now, I gave them a coat of heat proof aluminium paint 8-)

If you can, order it from the states. Places over here I've found charge around about $200 just for that bloody spacer. Order it from the US and it'd probably only cost you $100 max.

Places in Australia sell them for under $100 (check www.highperformanceworld.com.au for example), by the time you get it over from the US I think you'll find it costs more than that.

ended up ordering the gear below, even ordered a few spare gaskets incase I C**k up, and the got the 1 inch spacer, although I didn't realise at the time I may not have room under the bonnet to go that high, but overall not to bad, on current conversion it comes in well under the price just for the 1 inch spacer on its own from high performance world and even with duty if I have to pay it will be less, don't think I will have to pay as it's coming via post and last I looked the limit was $1000AUD.

just hope the freight isn't to much that's why I chose post, and I hope I got the right P/Ns, from the pictures and description they look right, if not, I'll flog 'em on ebay and try again, just don't have the time to do all the running around I would like to be sure.

TFS-51500093 Ford: 1986-93 5.0L, 58-70mm, EGR gasket/stud kit $US17.95

TFS-51520018 Intake Manifold Spacer, 1 in. Thick, Gaskets/Hardware, Phenolic, Natural, Ford Small Block Windsor, Kit $US59.95

TFS-51522005-4 Gaskets, Upper to Lower, Ford Racing GT-40/Cobra Intake Manifold, Ford, Mustang, 5.0L, Set of 4 $US14.95

The 1" spacer will be a problem, my 3/8" one sits right on the sound-proofing. Count on freight being around $30US + the $24 handling fee summit charges for international orders so I would image it will come to around $200 so thats not a bad price all up. You won't have to pay customs duty or GST because the cut off limit is $250AU. Did you choose air-mail or normal post, normal post can take months to get over here.

I dont think you needed the EGR gasket, being that the EGR is built in.

Anyhow.. good buying!! I love summit ;)

It will be interesting to see how you go with the 1" spacer. Might need to trim a hole in the bonnet!

Oh well if the 1" doesn't fit I'll flog it off and order a 3/8" just have to find some other bolts from somewher or I might keep it for when I get around to doing my shaker mod, if it ever happens, I keep spending hte cash I save for it, e, I got the EGR gasket/stud kit primarily for the TB bolts as the manifold doesn't have them.

I didn't mention that the spacer actualy came with 2 gaskets and all the bolts to do the mod as well, so it's way cheaper than the high performance world price.

FYI the HPW one comes with gaskets and bolts too, still you got a good price on yours.

I dont think theres 5/8" of sound proofing. Might need to start cutting into the bonnet frame/reo :)
