I found this on the weekend while trawling for easy ways to mount my oil temp and oil press. senders, looks pretty good.

Would any one not recommend using one? Would the placement of the senders here provide reliable info?

I'm also wondering if there are other brands out there, as this place wants $32 for freight.

Edit: on further looking I found these too:

I'm using one for oil temp and pressure. It's a good way to compare the pressure at the oil pump and in the block (if you have a gauge in your instrument cluster). I found that teflon tape on the brass fittings & plugs leaks under pressure. Hence, I use low strength Loctite as a sealer.

Is there much difference in the readings?

I get 0-1 bar difference. The pressure difference happens after the engine warms up.

After trying twice to get a fitting that easily screws into the block, I gave up and used one of these sandwich plates. Then, there's the question of how accurate the dash gauge is. At least I can see when there's a problem with the oil pump pressure.

They could definately be handy in a few applications. Which size would be suitable for an I6?

I just went to Autobarn and asked for one to suit a Z9 oil filter.
