Hey fellas,
i have just moved up to north western Aus. and my fairy is startin to dislike the heat... its not gettin too hot just running around the mid range. i just put a new timing cover in and new water pump, hoses the works. i was wondering if there was a radiator upgrade or something similar for the hot climate?..... or if i missed something with the timing cover. she still runs well so im not sure.

I'f it's still in the normal range i would'nt be to worried.
You could get a higher temp thermostat, i think the ones from ford run abit hotter then the generic ones. Has the car got thermo fans? |

Has the car got thermo fans? or get the outback spec or dessert spec thermostat that has a higher temp setting and also i think there is a dessert spec thermo switch or something that kicks in at a lesser temp

Has the car got thermo fans? its up in the high end of the normal when it used to sit in the low end before the timing cover change, plus it hasnt run in the +40C before here. i was thinkin about thermo's... but how much advantage do you get out of them?

the desert or high temp thermostats wont effect the car too much in winter... not that it matters really just so i know whether to change them back or not

Normal. I was in a traffic jam, 36 degree heat, gauge on "O". "O" is in normal..

i noticed that when my car was an auto and gave it a bit for a while it would get up near the O. but since being converted to a manual i can get it above the A. And im guessing that yours is an auto. and dont forget it has to be cooled so thats what causes the higher engine temps.
hope that helps!!!

Yeah if your wanting to give it abit of a hard time, you might want to go for an external trans cooler and maybe change to a manual radiator.
Thermos fans would also be a nice upgrade, will take some load off the engine aswell.
