ok, my car currently runs with a stupid gas ring,
it restricts the hell out of the intake so it makes any mods unusable till its fixed

i have a spare GRA throttlebody that was originally going to be used on a crossflow turbo setup.
but my funds ran short and now it just sits there.

does anyone know the complications with fitting the GRA TB to an injected 5ltr?
im assuming the EGR plate between the manifold and factory TB will need to be replaced for an adaptor of sorts since the bolt patterns look different

also, i hear the cruise control is difficult to setup?
something about it having to be mounted upside down or sideways or something?

any info anyone can offer on this subject would be great!
cheers!

I have fitted one on an injected EB V8 and it works very well. I made an adaptor plate from 12mm aluminium plate. Countersunk screws go through the adaptor, EGR spacer and into the upper intake. The adaptor plate was drilled and tapped for carb studs to hold the gas research tb on. I used a die grinder and carbide cutter to match the ID's of the TB, adaptor plate and EGR spacer.

Problems I had were the throttle shaft rotating the wrong direction, so my cruise control doesn't work. The TPS wires also needed to be switched to conteract the reverse rotation. And I had to buy new air duct to go between TB and MAF.

Other than that it was a simple install.

thanks mate, im an engineer, so the adaptor wont be a problem,
i think ill give it a shot some time soon,
do you have any pics of it??

im a little worried about the cruise control, i use it alot on my long trips up to echuca,
i wonder if i made an arm with a pivot point and had the cruise control work from the other side of the TB?

as for the pipe between the TB and MAF, iv had an all metal on in the plans for a while...

thanks mate!

you will also need a b2 converter tricked up with heavier springs to supply the gas, they get twice the volume out of it,and a restrictor on the vacuum line----small brass jet is placed in the line to tune it,my gas fitter calls it a 3 stage system as far as gas flow.

Go to your local exhaust shop and get a 3" 60 degree bend, cut to size, buy a couple of silicone joins and clamps and there you have it.

cheers guys,

i have the pipes ready for the intake,
i used a 45 bend and a flange from autobarn to make an adaptor to fit a pod inside the airbox,
works perfectly...
ill get around to the rest once its done, im a good mig welder and my mate is a good tig welder, im sure we'll work something out

i have a b2 that came with my GRA, and the GRA has been modified to take an E series tps from a 4ltr, hopefully wont require much to make the dual one for my 8 to fit...

MRE-50L, ill be doing a full straight gas setup in 2 years once i finish my apprenticeship,
i done one to my XF and managed to pull alot more power out of it in the process!
ill be using twin GRA and a custom manifold for that tho
