Anyone done before and after dyno run on these heads....not really interested in going aftermarket heads, want to keep it fairly basic, not building a drag car!!!! |

well that would be good......I can save $650......but I don't think so, as far as I know only the el gt's came with gt40 heads....but I am only new to this new car stuff, I know more about the old clevos of the 70's, not much about these sort of cars, thats why I am here to learn more about them.........

EL2 XR8's with the 185kw motor came with E7 heads, and Explorer intakes.

Hi fella's first time on any chat or forum thingy soon get the hang of it! HOPE!
GT40 heads have three vertical cast ribs on the front and rear of the heads and GT40p have 4 vertical cast ribs. Just finished match porting a set to go onto a 347 stroker into an EL Fairmont.

I'm looking for a set of those as well. Just curious timmeh why you would bother going a GT40 tubular when you already have the explorer manifold on the ELII when they flow roughly the same? |

Because they look awesome The lower part of the manifold is the bottleneck, not the upper. Although the lower still moves enough air for the std GT40P's. |

EB/L GT and ED Sprints were the only thing pre-AU to come with anything other than E7s. I too thought EL2 XR8s came with GT40s until recently when I said that, and was corrected.

It has 70mm MAF + 24lb injectors, EL GT ECU, GT40 upper intake manifold with 10mm phenolic spacer, cold air induction and k&n panel filter.Dual 2.5" exhaust, Genie stainless extractors, Lukey mufflers. Producing 160rwkw (215rwhp) what was that measured on? I have an ELGT manual, and it only pulls up 150 at the rears - in ramp mode {USERNAME} wrote: Just curious timmeh why you would bother going a GT40 tubular when you already have the explorer manifold on the ELII when they flow roughly the same?
the GT40 tubular does flow a lot better, just the bottom of them needs to be ported to get them realy going, whereas the explorers are crap top and bottom. I have a set of GT40P heads in the shed, but do not realy want to let go of them, but if someone gives me a decent offer I would consider it |

Basically want an engine capable that is like the ELGT one. I'm after heads as well, probably the GT40X alloy heads. |

How do you figure that? The GT40/Cobra/Explorer lowers are identical. |
