Okay I've got my GT40Ps arriving soon and I want to know how much it would roughly cost to get them fitted to my EL XR8?

The heads have got all the valve train gear. Only thing I'm missing is gaskets and new head bolts. Also need new ignition leads with 90 degree bends but I'll get them myself.

So how much would that cost for a straight head swap?

Cheers

While the heads are off i would factor in port matching your intake and exhaust manifolds to your heads as well for maximum benefit

No point in putting on a better flowing set of heads if they are being restricted by the manifolds connected to them

EDIT

Ohhh and what intake are you running?
Might be good time for explorer intake to :D

I've already got an explorer intake fitted because its the 185kw XR8.

And I have given Terry an email but I want to see what kind of price others have been paying.

Let me know if he takes you up on that. I might come round for a bit and give you a hand as well.

I wouldn't go too far "gasket matching" the head unless they have had some work done to them in the bowl.

Lower intake on the other hand will definitely benefit from being ported.

I have to get the Explorer manifold ported because its got a 75mm throttle body now. Theres a small lip compared to the TB now.
I only really want the ports to match up se there isnt a step up or down. Dont really want to get carried away porting the whole lot. I dont have the money.

well gasket matching is what you want then pete

just doing this results in more even flow and can net a small increse in power :)

Buy a dremel, fit the gasket to the desired part of the engine(head, intake) mark out the area that the gasket doesnt cover, then hit it with the dremel.
All good
Brett
