Hi guys,
We all know the AU XR8's heads have "GT40P" stamped on them. The EB GT / ED XR8 SPRINT / EL GT which had the GT40 heads, not GT40P, had "GTP" stamped? Is this correct? Cheers.

I beleive they both have "GTP" cast into them. Under the rocker cover is where the 40P's will have "GT40P" cast into them.

That image shows it only saying GT on the GT40 heads. I'm know my GT40Ps have GTP stamped on them. |

Also;
GT40 heads have 3 ribs on the front face of the head. GT40P have 4 ribs. |

It is not shown on those pics. On the very front and rear faces of the head there will be 3 or 4 vertical bars cast into the head.

The lines are located on the front of the head.
If your looking at your engine from the front of your car. To the right behind the alternator on the head is some raised lines. If you have 4 lines its a GT40P head if you have 3 lines its a GT40 head.

I'm guessing you have GT40Ps going off posts in the other thread where you mention plug clearance issues.

Yep, I got 4 bars, don't know why I was told they are 40's by the engine builder.
Thanks guys. So to fix my clearance issues now, what headers do I need? Cheers.
