now this is my specialty!! i like the pen idea. pen and lots of tape - preferably gaffer or electrical. use the pen 'shell' to connect the 2 pipes and just tape the f*** out of it! and if you want that extra peace of mind, stick a few staples into it as well!

Is a warm day isn't it.. I had my brake booster go yesterday, 2 k's of hills to get home with no brakes was an experience. Leaky master cylinder, interal workings of a brake booster... it was going to happen sooner or later... |

That's what i like to hear More stories like this please ppl!! Just out of school, took the olds car for a trip from Sydney to Warranbungles. Got midway between two towns and hit a plague of hoppers which clogged the radiator, no temp gauge to notice the rising temp so she boiled and split the radiator hose. Pulled the radiator out on the side of the road cleaned the hoppers off, reinstalled it and wrapped the hose with tape. Filled it with tank water and left the cap partially on and drove the 100 or so K's to get to the nearest town for spares. Red motors you can't kill them. There was more fun to this trip but that would be off topic. Cheers TW

Whichever one of the afore mentioned solutions you use Martin, I'd also leave the coolant cap off, if you don't let the system pressurise its less likely to force any temporary repair undone.
