A modern day boss, clevo heads are cheap, and outflow cheaper windsor heads....who knows. |

be good for top end but im sure youd loose torque if its a daily driver...due to the port volume

I reckon a set of CHI 185's would be more than a match for the equivalent straight out windsor head, e.g AFR185

You will need to modify the Clevo heads for water passages, just do a search for 302 BOSS conversions, you will also require stepped head bolt washers or the block head bolt threads to be drilled out for 1/2 inch head bolts and you will need a 302 Boss type intake. All the information is readily available on the web and people still build this combination in the states so parts are available. Remember low down torque will be an issue with Cleveland heads and 5.0L capacity.

It's only a matter of drilling out a water passage and knocking a welsh plug into it.
Here are some pics of my old heads, i never finished the build and sold it off, i cry when i see these heads, i want them back. These were to go on a 351W stroked to 376, i sold it all to a guy in QLD who was putting it into an XY.

The Ex ports looked like they'd been filled in a bit with something like brazing rods....would have taken a bit to do.....done in an oven???

Yeah mate 302C heads, the bottoms of the intakes and exhausts were filled up to high port them.
Notice the bronze on the top of the head, the top of the ports was completely chopped, raised and filled. They were done by Superflow heads in Sydney, around $3500 worth of machining went into them. Add the Manley severe duty stainless valves, YT rollers, Moroso stud girdles, springs, retainers and collets and you have a very expensive pair of heads. They were done around 10 years ago too. I wish i still had the heads though, i almost cried when i parted with it but i needed the cash. |
