Is it auto or manual? put 3.73 diff ratio in and that will have him chasing you.I did it 2 my auto 6 and its a MASSIVE improvement and you can still cruise on 100 no worries

Yeah mate change the diff gears and you could gain almost a second on ya 1/4 mile times even 3.9 gears they are the best for the track

mm the vn v6 will be quicker off the mark if it auto as they have shorter 1st and 2nd gears,if you keep draggin him say past 100 i think you will find that your car will beat the Vn
your xr8 should havea 3.45lsd a good ratio
basically u need more grunt. the exhauts is a good way so far
look at upgrading the MAF and add some roller rockers!

The EF XR8 normally had a 3.27 diff ratio - the EL's XR6 & XR8's had 3.45's.
To get more usuable power - fit some underdrive pulleys - change your Mass Aiflow meter from the standard one to a 70mm one and get rid of the poxy Ford extractors. From there a decent cam will wake things up.
Once you get to those power levels the next step is to remove the HO intake and E7 heads and replace them with GT40/GT40P heads and a Cobra/Explorer/AU manifold or go aftermarket.
So much has been written about upgrading the Windsor - SADesign do a book called 5.0lt Ford Dyno Tests which will tell you more than enough to start trouncing V6 and V8 commodores.

Dont forget the VN V6 is only 1370Kg (from memory). My EB XR8 is 1580 KG and i dare say that the EF XR8 would be very close to that. So there is a 210 Kg advantage that the VN has. However, i do give credit where credit is due and the VN V6's really are a quick car.

Best to PM Mr. Landau for an accurate quote. Or check out his forum on here - select "Jump to: Extreme Velocity" from the menu at the bottom of the page. Shane's got some very unique pulleys and MAFs, have heard nothing but GREAT things.

EBXR8 - agreed, credit is due to the VN - they dont hang around.

Lol, get yourselves into some forced induction EFI windsors.... the GMH patrol will despise you more than they do now

yeah but uve also got about 40 more kw standard ?? figures ive seen suggest vn is 0-100 in 9sec and eb xr8 should be 0-100 in 7.7 so u should be chopping him... oh thats a manual figure is urs auto? still a eb 4.0 litre auto is meant to be 0-100 in 9 sec

Sounds like there may be an issue with that XR8, I used to keep up with VN 6's in my old EFI XE, I have GT40P head on my EB V8 now and it has some balls now, although it didn't go too bad before either
