How in the hell do i get the pulley off the alternator?
Simple, Q, hope its a simple answer..

While im here, are the others just as hard?

simple answer, use a rattle gun, a quick trip to the local mechanic/tyre fitter etc should get it of

Yep. I had to use a rattle gun on mine to change the pulley.

Or you could pull it apart and have the rotor placed in a vice..

Yer, i think your on the right track there darren, everyone says rattle gun - ive done the other 2, just need to do they alt pulley, when i find someone who can swap that 1 over with no fuss muss.

unless you can jam the pulley with a screwdriver, then you will need a rattlegun, and prolly a 15/16 socket, if it is a bosch alt.

Went down to FTG auto salvage today, n tried a rattle gun.. lol

Dunno what bit was used, but its wasnt budging, seems to be chipping the nut more than anything - still not off, i almost give up.

Use a flank drive socket on it if you have already started to wear the corners off... they grip on the flat surfaces of the bolt / nut instead of the corners.

or use a single hex socket, a lot harder to round the corners of the nut.

you should have asked me to have a look.
Nick with a rattle gun i should have got some photos :lol:

the best way would have been with the air rattle gun not the snap on ones.
ive never had 1 beet me yet.

would have to remove alt to do so wouldnt ya?
If your willing to give it a go aswel id be wrapped, just give me a time when your not too busy n you dont mind having a fiddle.
Its only the 1 pulley to go; other 2 are fine. :lol:
think ive lost power as is, PML
