Has anybody fitted a Herrod exhaust to Au Xr8 ?? I've heard they're basically pacemakers hpc with a hi-flow cat. I've got the factory headers and was wondering if there'd be any gains from this change..

I looked into this and i honestly cant see their price being worth their gains.
You having the stock headers i feel is quite good enough unles syour getting into some decent performance mods.. I dont plan on changing from my stainless extractors that came stock, if anything id change the exhaust, but it costs too much for a replacement twin pipe setup lol. Go figure.

Headers are from DiFillipo afaik. It's a good system, but a bit pricey.. Time versus money.

Yeah the Herrod exhausts are good but expensive. IMO go for some pacemaker tri-y extractors and an off the shelf 2 1/2 or 3" exhaust. I got the 3" Lukey system and I think it is a great unit for the price.

Are you talking about on an AU or earlier models. The factory headers on all pre-au V8's are shocking, even the AU ones are very ordinary until you get to the 220kw engines. |

Yes, pre au - el gt extractors.
I know they arent the BEST but i honestly dont see why i should pay 3k+ for a full exhaust system from herrod lol as it sounds and goes well as it is for now Not to mention i rather keep it closer to stock for obvious reasons

Insurance friendly too!

Insurance friendly too! 168rwkw is a good figure with those headers, but you would probably pick up a good 10+rwkw by changing them. They look okay when fitted to the engine but you see how restrictive they are when you take them off and have a good look. |

Sound like I may be spending some xmas funds on me instead of the relo's. I have put up my Canberra dyno run in the gallery.

The ELGT extractors Daniel is talking about is not the standard 5.0 headers - they have far bigger pipe size - no restrictions and flow quiet well - I have a set sitting in my shed and they are HPC coated stainless steel.

I have the Lukey 3" system too and am very happy with it for the price.

Yep I have seen EDXR's and its vertually the same as mine..Except for extractors now..But the single flows approx 580fwhp through 3" exhaust so there is no restriction there... Herrod don't make extractors !!!
