Are there any other ppl out there thinking of, or are using herrod gear in the XR Boss falcons???

What are you thinking of getting?

I had a full Herrod exhaust sytem on my Boss...cost a few grand and it sounded crap. It was also installed poorly. Oh yeah, also they left the O2 sensor wires up against the exhaust and completely fried them...never buy Herrod gear again!

I've lost count how many exhaust shops have done this to guy's cars. Then they deny it or want to do a dodgy repair with poxy crimp connectors which, is an absolute no no when it comes to HEGO wiring.

Interesting. I just resolder a 30cm peice of wire between the bung and the sensor. Are you saying that the HEGO wont work properly?

Yes. Hego wiring especially should not be fixed, it should be replaced. If you must do it, use brass crimps and adhesive heat shrink. Solder actually causes a virtual battery effect which can effect the very small voltages that HEGO's produce. If you have soldered make sure you use a good adhesive heat shrink to keep it sealed from the atmosphere. Basically if the exhaust shop has damaged the wiring from the HEGO connector to the actual Sensor they should buy new sensors...if not burn their f**k shop down!
