oil pressure is gauge is off the chart high, recently changed oil & filter. it was reading fine, then suddenly jumped to the high. it has done it previously on and off could it be a matter of the sender needed to be replaced or what???

i always have high oil pressure. its sits up in the orange bit of the gauge. I dont think its a huge issue, if anything i would assumes its a good thing to have high oil pressure.

I think if you have just refilled the engine oil and it's a bit over full in relation to the dipstick measurements, the gauge sits on high for a while until you have driven the car for a while and it burns off some engine oil and the oil level drops in the engine. At least, that's something I have noticed on mine if I overfill it a little.

usually a new sender will fix it, they can get blocked or gummed up and buggered. I had to do it with mine, fixed the issue.

Heh, relax your balls.
As I said, it's something I've noticed on my engine and that's how it responds to over filling of the oil. Maybe it's just a unique issue with my engine. No need to arc up like someone took your blankie.

it'll be that the oil quality deteriorates with time
