I have a el fairmont that used to be a 6 but now has a series 3 xr8 engine. The di filippos have hit a sensor and broken off the rack. So i dont no weither to modify the header around that and re weld or try move the sensor

Did you order EL or AU difillipo's
There is a big difference.

Are you using the 6 cyl rack? If you are, block off the power steering pressure switch and remove it.

Correct V8 racks don't have the sensor so the headers are not expecting it to be there.

Yep bang it REAL GOOD as they leak if you don't...
The pressure switch is not required...
If rack is half stuffed ?? May be good time to replace with V8
rack...

Its the 6 cylinder rack. Ill get them to re weld were its opened up and seal it off in that case if i dont need the pressure switch.

Nope, you don't need the power steer pressure switch on a v8 equipped car. I have pacemaker extractors in the EB Xr8 & they clear the 6cyl rack pressure switch by a long shot. v8 rack was accident damaged, and i had a spare 6cyl rack so i used it instead of getting the v8 rack repaired just yet. You can plug the rack up if you get the right bolt. Stick some thread tape or thread sealant on the thread before you insert it.

I left the switch in my rack as it fits without issue, it just isn't wired up to anything.

Cheers

ToranaGuy
