Series 2 is good.
Explorer upper and lower manifolds, GT extractors, 3.45 diff? (not too sure on that one).
Add in it looks better outside and in and it's a superior package to the EF with it's measly 165kW and paper thin cloth seat trims.

I prefer the front EL XR bumper, the rear tail lights of the EF and Interior of the EF.

I own a ef xr8 and im quite happy with it.

A mate of mine bought himself a el xr8 ( series 2 ) and the differences are noticable. It feels alot more refined even in the looks department.
Worth the extra money.

You like the EF interior?! Why?! It's terrible!
I think everyone agrees (apart from downingj the fool) the EL front bar is better, and front bars are about 5 times the price of taillights.
So buy an EL and put EF/fairmont tailights in!

When your talking the XR8 the EL2 is miles ahead.

I have an EF, and I am very happy with it (although it is far from a standard EF as well).

I haven't ridden in an EL to compare it to.

plus kilma has a venom front bar with el-light-surround styling..

as far as the 8s go, EF and EL tickfords arent that far apart coz they both have the same rear trailing arm mod that all EF tickies and then all ELs got. 170kw power too. the differences are entirely cosmetic, untill you involve the late build el xr8s, they got the 3.45 diff, standard 16"s, 185kw thanks to manifold n tb.

Nope. ECUs are the same.

If I can find an EL ECU that is twEECer compatible, and for a decent price, I would snap it up to give my car a decent tune.

ELs are better for an XR8.
3.45 LSD diffs, 185kw engine (series 2, like mine haha!)
Interior is better but the cluster and the buttons are grey (crappy s**t grey) and the EFs ones are black (much better looking).
ELs also got the bigger rear wing.
