IDIOT ALERT!!!
This is the very first time I've ventured into this forum... Ok... so I know this would have been covered before but after looking through the first three pages I grew board and decided I'd rather be spoon fed the info In simple words, how hard would it be to change an EF 6 to a V8? Wiring, mounting, transmission, ECU, ect? And before anyone says "don't bother! They're not powerful! etc etc blah blah!" Seemings you can't go fast these days I'd rather have something that sounds good than goes fast

Engine bay loom/ECU.
Kframe. Any thing that hangs off the motor. Front springs. Trans. Tail shaft. Exhaust. I think the diff is the same... Cheapest way would be to buy a V8 write off.

They noticeably more powerful? They've got a fair bit more torque. That's not why I'm considering it but it would be a a good by-product.
I'm going to give a place a call who specialise in various engine and gearbox conversions. See if they'd do it. They only charge $1250 to supply and fit an AU VCT engine to an EF so I can't imagine it'd be much more for a V8 conversion.

It's not just the engine that will need to be replaced. Factor in money for the engine loom and the exhaust system as well.
Sing along now... ♫ Money money money ♫

Some ECU's had the TCM built into them, some have them separate like mine does.

mmm... I did look at those.
First on the list is finding out the cost and basic legalities of doing the basic conversion.

If you have a wreck to use it wouldn't be that bad a job at all. It would mean that you have everything you need and the process of removing it from the wreck you should know where to put it in the new car.
