Thinking about a flash tuner for my BF11 GT what kind of horsepower can be made before the drive line starts to suffer?

people are putting blowers on these engines and not having any dramas to speak of so I'd reckon a flash tuner would be a walk in the park. Auto's with blowers though sometimes dont cope under harsh treatment but the new 6sp auto may be different.

Around 500-550 rwhp AFAIK.

It all depends how you drive it. If you're going to be dragging every weekend, go through a set of tyres once a month and think your the next schumacher then you'll have problems

The first thing to go normally is the rear CV joints (especially if hard launches are your thing).
The clutch on the 5spds sucks - but you won't have that problem in a BF2. You got the manual or ZF auto? The auto's are holding huge power behind Typhoons and XR6T's. They're a tough box.

Thanks boys, it's has a ZF auto, is there any such thing as heavy duty CV joints? Where do the flappy paddles come from?

Flappy pedals are datamine's pet project, and something more then a few people are keen on getting a hold of.
As far as the BF drivetrain goes they're pretty robust. CV joints are a weak spot as mentioned (I've seen aftermarket supposedly stronger ones around on xr6 turbo forums) and diffs have given up too. Mechanical sympathy seems to be the key to keeping these cars alive.

Yep flappy paddles are my - work in progress - project.
You can get billet drive shafts and CV's, AFAIK this is the only thing that really needs upgrading. And only when you're talking 400+RWKW and drive hard (drag strip runs etc.) Going to bigger rubber on the back, will increase the stress on the CV's, so keep that in mind. And I've been told by a reliable name in the business that a shorter diff will help protect the drive line more, while giving better acceleration. I went from a 2.72 to a 3.46 wonderful change, certainly livened the BOSS up. Hard on your tyre budget though.

Love the flappy paddles idea, I'm sure there will be plenty of interest out there, keep up the great work mate.
