How much max horse power can u get out of a 5.0 winsdor block strocked to 347, (600-700 hpr?)?
Will a 5.0 windsor block make it in the nines??? or are we hoping for too much?? and would the factory manifold be sufficient or not? (super charcher going on and told factory manifold ok ). Also what would you need to get in the nines down the quater?? Is engine builder talkin s**t or not?? Facts appreciated.

for 27k I can sell you my 427 351W dart block that i guarantee will run 9's
No way in the world will a stock block 347 with a pump and stock inlet get anywhere near a 9. Mid11 to low 12 maybe, buit not nines. The stock blocks are good for around 450-500hp max, thne they start splitting down the middle Goodluck Brett

TerroristGHIA is on the money 500hp max from a roller block but a mexican block can handle abit more.
To be honest but the time you buy a good block then $1500.00 for the usuall machning ur not going to be out of pocket mych more for a DART block. There more expensive now as the Aussie dollar is crap now, but hold out and u will find someone selling one if u can wait.

Fact.
Try going past about 450 hp and this happens on a Stock 5.0 block. You may want to try sourcing a mexican block.. bit stronger in the internals. Bad experience.

Especially that your going to but a blower on it.
Dart block all the way dude and dont forget people are asking big bucks for a mexican block and after mahcining ur not to far away from a DART block. I know which way id be going as i can just im my car and give it hell and not worry that something is going to let go.

Dont forget you buy a $3000 Dart block and your still looking at at least another $1000 worth of machining.

For 16k you can have all my bits and peices, or for 27 you can have my complete motor built to make 1000Hp useing a big hit of gas, or 700odd NA

If you buy a DART block say in 4.125 bore you can get off the shelf pistons to suit so u only need to hone and if anything deck the block and away you go so all that is under $1000.00 TerroristGHIA Why your engine cost 27k to build??? my mate built a 427windsor Dart block that make 620hp for 21k

If i bought a Dart block i would be running a torque plate bore and hone, 0.00" deck height plus the lifter bores need doing on the Dart blocks too. Nothing is ever as easy as it seems. But sure some people would do it the easy way if thats what you want, not me.

Well thats all my engine builder said that needed to be done but maybe he did forget to mention a few other things but at the end of the day prep work is cheaper on a DART block if your going to use the facotry bore. Ive built a 347 before and the price difference between a stock block and DART is a small percentage compared to the total bill so definatly worth it. XR9UTE My mate has a Scat steal crank and H beam rods and diamond pistons with edelbrock 230cc cnc heads so its all good gear my friend for that sort of hp. wonder what gear has been used???

this twin turbo capri is running a 4 bolt main 347 stroker(stock windsor block)putting out 600rwhp and running a 9.30et ,so been in a falcon you may get in the low to mid 10s with the right stuff,i know when the time comes i wont be spending the 3grand on a dart block

Hey matt,
Thats a sick capri, did your mechanic build that as well??? He has to be running a mexican or pre roller block The funny thing is that i know 3 engines builders making over 550hp with a 302 roller block and reving past 6000rpm and apparently thats there limit and should be blowing up. These engines have been running for some time now as well so figure that???
