{USERNAME} wrote: i remember reading somewhere that when you remove the engine driven fan and replace it with a electric unit it gives you more power. is this correct?
yeah it is correct, you no longer heve to rob the engine of the power to run the fan, esp when its not needed like on the freeway, not heaps of power but you can notice it a bit. glad it all went well for you mate!

should be good for around 5-10hp
Like the previously said V8's are normal lefty loosey righty tighty, 6's are the opposite To get the shroud out i had to remove the radiator, there is just enough room to slide out the radiator when the shroud is pushed forward over the fan. Have fun ps. pack on the inox/WD40 if its being a bugger

If you have the fans working on a dial type thermocouple (repco special) don't turn your AC on until you're moving or the fans start kicking in and out, as without the engine fan there's nothing to keep the pressure in the AC down while the engine warms up.
Edit..... Ha! Just noticed how old this thread is.........mined!
