howdy fellas,
Just about to purchase a set of custom ignition leads from queensland ignition parts, anyways just wondering if anyone has got a set done before with the gt40p heads on the 302. I have approx lengths, but thought i may as well ask the question to see if anyone has got it done already and has all the measurements spot on so it looks nice and tidy. Basically why i am ordering a custom set (9mm with 90 degree boots), is becasue when i changed over form e7's to gt40p heads, the number one lead was a bit too short, yes i have tried all different lead postions but still way too short etc. So i decided to get a set made up that will fit perfect in there. Anyways if someone could help out that would be great. Cheers Ben

I run a set of {DESCRIPTION} 9mm leads with 90° boots on my GT40P heads. I also use kevlar heat sleeves over the plug boots as well and all the problems I previously had have never reoccured.

Heat sleeves can be brought from American Autos/rare spares. They come in packs of 4 and cost about 40bucks a set. Well worth if it you have issues of melting leads.

Mine were from Eagle ( I think ) who used to be in Bennet St, Dandenong. I think they have moved business to the west side of Melbourne now.
They cost something like $16 per sleeve and I believe they are worth every cent.

Yep any spiral would wire leads are the go..
Graphite leads are for std engines... I have had success with MSD spiral universal kit where you make your own.. That way you get correct length etc... Crimping tool and parts are supplied.. As said ICE leads are tops also...

Just discovered that these heat sleeves were from a company called CPC ( not Eagle ) over in the west side of Melbourne.
Here's a quick pic of what one of them looks like:
