Did someone post up a link ages ago that had a little graph, or a webpage regarding a comparison done on various stock and aftermarket intake manifolds for the 5.0 ?
Im after some specs and comparisons of a few manifolds. Ive been offered a edelbrock performer.. but i wanted to see how it compared to the likes of the explorer, rpm, rpm II cobra and Trick flow manifolds Thanks, Steve |

I have been trying to find the other chart all morning, i think i may have deleted it.
Although do a search on manifold in v8 workshop and im sure you will come up with something. Has been posted a few times i think. Iwill keep looking though.

The Edelbrock is the Performer.

Unless stroking, turboing or supercharging I recomend that you stay clear of the Trick Flow.

I'm assuming you are referring to the R-series? The mild TFS intake known as the Street Heat is on a par with the others mentioned above although I'd pick the Cobra or Performer over this one anyway. There is the Track Heat which is similar to the Performer RPM with it's slightly shorter runners so it's suited to a higher rpm 5.0 or mild stroker. In this case however an Edelbrock RPM-II is the better choice. Pete. |

Nah, the street one.
I had one and lost a bit of low down torque. Went back to the explorer and got the torque back.

Well that would be true when comparing to others like the Edelbrock too. The Explorer does taper substantially in the lower manifold which is why it maintains the torque.
As I said before though the Edelbrocks are slightly better than the TFS stuff generally. The exception being the new TFS-R with the box upper... it's probably better than the Victor but of course we're talking big inch or high rpm stuff there. Pete. |
