just did mine then, when asked if I was a member of any clubs I said I was a member of FORDMODS, but didn't get any discount from it, but I'm happy, $776 for fully comp, or monthly payments at no extra ( I took that option), lifetime no claim, free windscreen, etc etc, might be $200 dearer than NMRA, but at least I get to pick the repairer and I can do what I want to my own car without having to worry to much, although he did suggest calling in when I make a change, as you would anyway.

Yeah, the extra $200 or whatever is totally worth it. Shannons have been pretty good to me. I had to make a claim and they sorted it out straight away (I had my car booked in to be repaired within an hour of the accident occurring).
I guess it wasnt my fault, but Im sure they would be just as good if it was my fault.

I stopped at a stop sign but the chick in the car behind me just assumed I was going to roll through as everyone else does there. Rooted my tailgate and rear bumper, but was a good excuse to get rid of the 215i and hydratrak stickers that were on it!

Has anyone heard of VIGIL? I have an AU XR6 which is over $4k with NRMA. I also have a heavily modified XY 351C ute. Insured comprehensively with Vigil it's only $1100.

Its not modded and its not an 8, but just as another benchmark, we and the misses got a brand new ford focus (well it'll be here soon), for fullcomp

AAMI = $750
ALIANZ (spelling) = $1052
NRMA = $1678

...

and AAMI is the winner, when I was talking to the NRMA person I was laughing my a** off when she gave the quote, I told her what their competition was quoting and her anwser was, "sorry we dont price match", "if a good price is something that conscerns you then perhaps you'd be happier with one of the others", I couldnt believe what I was hearing it just got funnier and funnier!

Change in plans.

Dim (my mechanic, & all round good bloke - just ask Kurt) recommended me to a specific person in Shannons, and they are now insuring me for more than enough.

Very happy.
