Sounds like a vac leak.
Also check you haven't directly connected your EGR valve vac line directly to vacuum. It needs to go to the EVR first(I can't see it in the pic but that doesn't mean it's not there)....this happens a lot when conversions are done. Also check your Canister Purge line is attached to the intake.

Hey buddy how are ya ?
Thanks mate, I think that may be my problem, as I never bothered with the EGR stuff, ( Is that all the crap on the drivers side guard ?)
At the moment I have the canister purge blocked off. I am using the Range Rover canister, just havn't had a chance to buy some hose fitting to go from 3/8 to 5/16 hose.
What exactly does the EGR and EVR do ?

Cheers mate,
Shayne

Howzit Shayne? I'm good.

EGR is Exhaust Gas Recirculation.
The EVR is the EGR Vacuum Regulator. It is an EEC controlled solenoid that controls the vacuum signal to the EGR valve thereby varying the amout the valve is opening(because you had full manifold vac applied it was fully open all the time...effectively a Giant vac leak). The EVP is the EGR Valve Position sensor it is a linear pot. that provides feedback to the EEC telling it how far the valve is open and therefore how much EG is flowing from that it can pull back fuel and advance timing to compensate.
When you get a chance you should refit the EVR and correctly plumb up the vacuum lines so that your EGR will work....it's good for fuel economy as it allows unburnt fuel in the exhaust to be recirculated and burnt. The same is true for Canister Purge...not hooking it up is just throwing fuel away.
Range Rovers are great cars.....I've been trying to convince a mate to fit an F-series EFI 351 into his but he's a wimp.

BTW don't throw away the coolant lines to the EGR spacer. They are there to keep the t-body/intake cooler than the exhaust gas entering.

Cheers,
Pete.

Thanks Pete,
I will be connecting up the canister purge, just need to get a couple of fittings to reduce the hose size to the manifold.

I love the Range Rovers, they are good value for what you can pick them up for. Fantastic off road.

Cheers,
Shayne

Well "Mr full of good idea's" it already had a V8 in it, they come out with them. All I did was put a better one in it.

I'm curious now, what would have been a good idea to put it in ?

Still think it's a "s**t box" ?? What 4WD have you got to put up against it ?

Nice Rangey there bud, I've always liked the look of them. Was it a big mission getting the 302 in there?

Thanks Buddy.
I've always liked them too. The only thing I don't like about them is the baby V8 they come with. Butthat's fixed now.
Wasn't really too much of a drama, just time consuming fiddly stuff. Did a fair amount of trouble shooting as I have never really done anything with injection prior to this.

Cheers.

Well done then, it appears as though you've done a pretty good job on it and now you've got this issue sorted it should be plenty of fun without the headaches.
