Manifold will fit with the spacer because you have a lane. They have a higher bonnet than a GLI or XR. The rest as everyone else said. When fitting the heads ensure that there is sufficient piston to valve clearance, especially when running 1.7 rockers.
Good luck. Brett

Righto time to bring this thrad back from the dead
after a few months, i am really only a tad closer. These are the parts i have in my possesion: 1. Cobra Manifold with 1" spacer 2. GT40P heads 3. E303 Cam Didnt end up getting the underdrive pulleys, cancellede the order as other things came up. But i shall be getting the race series shortly. But now that i have the E303 cam, should i be replacing the rockers or anything in the heads? Like seals, vale springs etc...? And will this cam Be all good for this setup? I bought it one night while a tad drunk, and didnt really look into it. I have done a bit of research on it, but from what i have read, people are 50/50 on it. Also need to know whether the genie extractors (for E7's) will fit on the GT40p heads and still have clearence on body etc... Parts looking for? 1. BPT Race series underdrive pulley's 2. 65mm Throttle body 3. 70mm MAF 4. Some nice looking rocker covers. If you have any, let me know. I am aiming to have this all completed by the end of june. Cheers BEN

if your running a bigger than stock cam (E303 for example) i would highly recomend getting better valve springs, & roller rockers.
im running crane steel rollers on mine and have had no issues, ive got nothing against yella terra but you can get many other brands much cheaper offshore. you will have to check pushrod length when you set it up, if its not the same as stock you'll be needing a new set... check out www.summitracing.com for the rest of the parts your looking for.. for the underdrives you want the ones that fit a 94-95 mustang iirc. and most aftermarket rocker covers put the oil filler in the wrong spot (ie front passenger side) just something to be aware of. -mitch

I'd get the heads serviced before fitting them. While they are being serviced get them to fit new valve springs that would suit that cam.
Part of servicing the heads would be new valve stem seals. You can buy a top end gasket kit which has all the bits you need. My engine shop guy sorted all that out for me. Also get a rollmaster timing kit. They aren't very expensive. |

The heads are brand new (only test fired) they are stamped with 2000 compliance date. Would i still need to service them?

No probably not. I thought they were second hand.

The std springs on GT40P heads are pretty ordinary to say the least. I would think they are too light for a cam like the E303.
Im not even sure there would be enough spring height on the exhaust side. They are pretty short on the std heads when you take into account the lower groove for valve locks and the rotator on the exhaust side. There should be a single spring setup that will work OK with the E303 without having to machine the spring pockets. Talk to the guy doing your heads. Ford should have a recommendation for spring pressures for the E303 in the Ford Racing catalogue... |

Are the valve springs on the GT40s any different to those fitted on E7s? I used the stockies on my setup and keep the revs down. The torque from this cam in the mid range is so much better than the stocker, you dont need to rev it to get it going. Nevertheless, the revs do come very easy when doing the heads, manifold and cam.
castlegreyskull, you might have to do something with your diff ratio though, mine is a pig coming out of small roundabouts, I have to work the clutch a bit hence the need for a XR spec diff ratio. Your ECU wont have any problems with the idle though, mine idles nice and bumpity-bump. My LPG on the other hand....... |

Im liking my choice more and more with th response im getting from people banarcus!!!
Yeah i have thought about the diff, i will see how it goes to begin with, but yeah i will be looking at a diff ratio after everything is installed. Funds have just been a bit depleted lately

get new head bolts, They are torque to yeild type.
buy a vrs kit, this kit will cover all that you require to do the job including valve stem seals which you should do if heads have been sitting around. you'll def need valve springs, retainers locks and correct lenght push rods. Not sure if you'd have to notch your pistons for valve/piston clearance with the E303 cam lift or not. A must check to do. You could clean up the heads, depends on how far u wanna go

Did you buy these off Yella Terra, are these the stocky GT40 heads they didn't CNC port etc? Still much better heads than E7 if they are.
