The higher stall convertors to suit the 4 speed auto are fairly expensive on their own, generally around $500, plus there is obvioulsy a lot of labour involved to drop the trans out (unless you can do that yourself). The other problem is that if you go too high stall, the EEC will go into limp home mode. The safe limit is around 2500rpm, although for most late model engines you don't want to go much higher unless it is a fairly modified engine. What stall are you looking at, and what mods have you done?

Make sure if you get one that the converter guy knows what he's doing or done a Ford converter before...We have to consummer affaires over a co. here that promised us heaps..Three attemps at different whize bits inside and he still can't get it right..We paid $580 for it too.. So far he has paid only half that back!!! I'd use Dominator etc...For the extra few $$ its worth it.. The Mocks have one also...Yes the lock up gets disconnected when hi stalll is fitted....
