Sounds good guys, i think i'll go with the 425 seeing as i have it already, can pickup an out of date tank for next to nothing and get it retested for $150, it's good that EA to AU tanks are the same.
Straight LPG is def the way to go for power and economy as they have some great setups, just don't run out of gas as you will need to be towed to a servo lol. Years ago i had the XD running straight gas with the 425, i ran an XY and he beat me by a car length, i then decided to throw the petrol tank back in and put the Holley back on just for another run, we ended up a dead heat. |

{USERNAME} wrote: Oh i see, so if you use the 'duel fuel' setup, u lose a bit more power?... is this because they have to tune it to 2 different fuels?
Oh, does LPG affect the sound of the engine at all? lol, i love the V8 sound and i dont want to make it sound like s**t.. Correct, LPG and petrol require a slightly different tune due to their different octane ratings and more importantly, density. Exhaust note doesn't change. It'll be interesting to see what the diferences in times down the quarter is between the 425 setup and the 225. I'll also be running several runs on both gas and petrol...

Do you know what the 425 mixer came out on?
The Ford Louisville cement trucks, they had a 460 BB in them running a 425 with an E type convertor straight gas setup.... as you can imagine they wont have a problem feeding a 5.0. I'm keen to see how your car will go on sat EF302... i think we have met before haven't we? Was going back a while now. |
