Hi guys, doing a few turns on my distributor now that it is out of the car, and its making funny plastic friction sounds and vibrates when turning every now and then, kind of like it's totally dried out and grinding with all the insides. Is there any way to lubricate these? It is just the standard Motorcraft dizzy.

You can squirt a bit of oil up the end of the housing into the bush but remember that the other support for the shaft is down in the block. You can't really expect smooth rotation without the tip of the shaft supported in the block.
