Well i got my ute back finally! I smells like raw fuel at idle and sounds awesome. She is yet to be tuned and managed 238rwkw at 5800 rpm the day before i picked her up. Needs timing, more rpms before fuel cut and a bigger air intake. The MAF is the only stock part (70mm AU) of the engine now and i am assuming that it is not helping performance now.
I'm hoping to pick up a few more ponies with the MAF bigger piping to the 75mm t/b and a good tune from lachlan at chiptorque. Any suggestions on MAF. I was thinking 90mm From somewhere. Hmmm sig needs updating!

That's an awesome result. 90mm MAF sounds good, cant have a 'too big' MAF assuming you can tune it to suit.
Do you have the stock explorer manifold? Just wondering what size the inlet is... you may need some work done to open the inlet to 90mm to suit the MAF...

She's got a victor efi inlet and a 75mm t/b so 90 should be fine.

Nice, that sounds like it will be a beast
Do you want to buy a new 90mm Lightning MAF? |

Yeah the 70mm MAF will probably be close to maxing out at the moment. The 90mm LMAF is a good option but you need to be able to modify the MAF curve via the chip because it isn't 'calibrated' for any particular injectors, I assume the chiptorque can do this. The good thing with this MAF is it provides excellent resolution at low flow figures which should help with drivability.
Great result so far though, should be able to add a few more kw to that still. |

magnificent ive been wiaiting to hear how u went. thats an excellent result for untuned and smaller maf u should be able to improve a fair bit on that figure.
so how does she drive now apart from having an angry idle? 90mm should be fine the t-series which r fairly tame compared to ur motor run 82mm. regards from adam

Yeah it took a while but she's great to drive. Second gear is best and just pulls and pulls. I got about 4 and a bit secs 0-100 just playing around the other day. It just gets up there so quick now.
XR8ute: Yes a 90mm maf would be great! How much? Pics? She's in for a tune in a couple of weeks so i need it very soon. I've still got the 24lb's in there. I don't know whether lachlan will put the 30's in or not but i'd assume so.

She's a lil doughy down low due to the fueling issue but yes theres wheel spin and plenty of it if i'm silly.
