What size should the intake pipe be for the MAF and 65mm TB?

Mine runs the stock rubber pipe, i have a 65mm TB and 75mm ProM MAf. All bolted up and looks stockish

I would have thought keeping it as close to (but not smaller than) the MAF or T/body diameter, whichever is the biggest, to preserve air velocity.

If you are going to replace the rubber hose with metal piping then a 3" pipe tends to be a pretty good match.

I have been looking at the pod filter adaptor plates at Autobarn and I think there is one type designed ( can't remember the brand name ) that is listed for the EF V8 Falcon but wasn't on the shelf for me to match up against a spare airbox lid I brought in. If it's diammeter is 3" and the flange bolt holes match the bolt holes on the airbox lid then I'll buy it and then try and find a place to make up a 3" pipe that follows the contours of my stock TB / MAF rubber tube. A work in progress.

you could always go to places like total rubber (in hallam) clarke rubber places like that and get some air ducting in 3"/75mm you'll only need 50-100cms if your lucky they may have off cut's which cost nothing.
If you have any problems i can have a look around for you as we buy this stuff at work all the time.

Purple Pig in Bayswater may be closer for you vic, they have any number of different rubber/Plastic ductings.

Thanks Neal and Sean, I shall be making some calls soon.

Incidently, I found a tape measure and checked what 3" equals - its 76mm so yes, the smallest restriction for this intake pipe will be my 65mm TB as the internal port measured something like 64.7mm.

hey just done something sim to my au the od of 65mm tb measures 72mm approx dont no wat size your MAF is 70mm std au measures 82mm od (outside diameter )if u got the old au rubber hose you can cut of the elbow at the other side of sensor and cut a slot in 75mm ally tube so tube goes in enuf to clamp and doesnt shr oud air sensor i cut thr u length of pipe and spread apart so 82mm at 1 end 72 other an cut atapered strip from another bit of pipe an welded in then got a hump hose 4 about 25 bucks , which is one of those short hoses u see on truck air cleaners with a bulge init to fit on MAF END polish it up looks sweet (only prob )not a dead straight line from maf so i think ill just extend rubber elbow out from tb HEAPS cheaper than a herrod one

Slighty off topic here, I had a book that had dozens off dyno runs for dozens of mods on windsors... the recommendation is having the MAF 5mm bigger than the TB. It also had different sized intake pipes, but I'm unsure as to which was 'better'

I'd forgotten about that thread. At the time I didn't have the need for one but now that I am halfway through part procurement, it's the sort of thing to bear in mind - exhaust shops.
One question, is the bend 45 ° or 60 ° in the intake pipe?
