All AU's had a 70mm MAF. The plugs are different but you can use your stock electronics on the AU MAF body but this may cause it to run lean at WOT depending on what sort of power your engine has to start with. You can combat this to some extent with an adjustable fuel pressure reg.

If it does run lean this problem can be fixed by altering the program in a aftermarket chip???

Yes you could work around it with a chip by either just making WOT richer therefore canceling out the effect of the MAF or by altering the actual MAF curve in the EEC (aftermarket chip companies may or may not have this capability)

May want to contact MrLandau regarding a professional mass air systems MAF's as they are calibrated correctly and flow more than the AU ones too. BTW, AU ones should go for $200-250 second hand, probably around double that for a decent aftermarket unit. |
