Dude changing to 40p heads wont do anything to the exhaust note, i suppose it could change the note if you change extractors to suit the spark plug angle of the gt40p heads.
Youd be surprised at how much the cats quieten the motor(I got some piped cats made up for the drags) and change the note too |

Get some straight through mufflers on it or have a listen to NC2LANE'S on his build thread.

Glass packed mufflers mate in any brand really that will make you car sound tough, also there a straight through design.
My old eb xr8 had a 3 chambered muffler and it sounded nice and revy but after having a glass packed muffler it made it sound deep and angry, gave it growl mate. Both mufflers were redback bought and fitted at Hume mufflers out at liverpool |

Here is my old redback system. It had a deep note plus it was a glass packed straight through design:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujNe78iaSC4 Here is a video of my twin Supercat crap straight through mufflers on my duel system. They are loud but lack depth. You get what you pay for....... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSsXoJfX ... re=channel Hot dogs sound different again. I'm not happy with mine and I'll be going for lukeys or redbacks in the new year for mine. |

I booked my car in for a lukey 2.5 zorst and ended up with supercrap-never again because its way too quiet. The guy tried to convince me that it was the same as lukey but hes talking through his a*** because it sounds nothing like my other v8 with a lukey system.
For the price id have to say lukey, never heard redbacks on a v8 but id say they would be pretty similar. |

Theres a VY SS in my town which has some sort of ridiculous exhaust which literally shakes the ground when accelrates from the intersection past my house, it sounds f**k horrible he might as well chop the headers from the block..... if you want it louder, then use off the shelf generic straight through wide body mufflers. Mine cost me $110 inc fitting but found was too loud so i fitted a resonator behind it |

ok i am going to book the car in next week so i need to make a choice...
is it worth going down the lukey or redback glass pack route and getting the smallest mufflers they have for more noise? redback will probably be cheaper... in peoples experiences do they still give the same deep 'old' v8 sound? my car currently has that note (old working machine v8 sounds, not too smooth) but its just not loud enough |

Twin 2.5", no mufflers, one hotdog each side, factory cats & headers, twin dump tips out the back.
{DESCRIPTION} Not anywhere near as droney as it sounds at the end, that's due to where the camera was sitting being like a box.
