Around 16 to 18 thou, thats what i always set points at. Or if you have the specs you can use a dwell meter but i have never bothered.
I have to be honest though, they were the absolute worst dizzy you could buy, the std single point Bosch is better.
The Mallory looks good, but that's about as far as it goes, i threw mine in the bin, and parts are way too expensive!
I bet the points cost you a small fortune?

Mallory Unilite electronic is a much better choice coupled to a malory electronic coil and driven through a MSD multiple spark system.

The problem is once the points get down you go through it all again.
Go electronic man, you'll never turn back... ask anyone in the know and they'll tell you to turf that thing in the bin.
I'm not sure but i think i still have one here in a box somewhere, if you want it just pay the postage and it's yours. If you plan on keeping yours it might be good for parts.
If you're interested just let me know and i'll see if it's still here.

I had a twin point mallory in my GT, for about 2 weeks! ford muscle parts sells those unilite units and all I can say is you will never look back, and when setup in conjunction with a multi spark 7al or so, you will never use points again.
