Hey Guys,
Wanting to rid my ef xr8 of standard heads and inlet manifold. Thinking of chasing a wrecked au v8 and getting bits off.. Are the heads etc on a standard au v8 any different to au xr8 etc And will it all fit the ef without any mods??? What should i expect to pay??

for the most part it all drops on IIRC..... some slight differences in AFM, etc....

GT40P heads usually go for around $900-1300
Explorer Manifold can be had for $600-800 The non XR V8's were 175KW (unless otherwise noted), with the XR8's being 185KW (EL2 and AU1 XR8's), 200KW (AU2 XR8's) and 220KW (AU3 XR8's and some T Series). The only difference between 185 and 220KW variants is factory extractors, cam and ECU, and 220KW had roller rockers apparently. So dont be disheartened if you find a 175KW engine cheap, chances are you'd want to use aftermarket cam in it anyway, and with that should make more power than the 220KW

The heads were different on the 220's too, still GT40P's but with porting and larger vlaves which flow really quite well. Otherwise yeah it doesn't matter if you get the base 175 or the 185/200 motor, just throw a decent cam in whiule you are changing the heads and you will be laughing. |

I thought it was the 250's and the like which got the rest of the tricks.
