Well after attending the sydney dyno day on the weekend, i have decided along wiht some other mods i definetly should get a manual in the lane.

But a lot of mates and family have been telling me dont do it, as it will decrease seling value and other things along the line of manuals dont belong in lanes.

But what do u fellas think? manual or leave it as a auto??

Do it! 8-) . If you leave the transmition cooling lines in place & keep the btr & converter, then you could always change it back if you don't like it or when you decide to sell the car.

Make sure it's what you want mate.

I am seriously considering doing the job on my AU Lane... i'm selling my SVO which is a manual and the missus drove it today and doesn't want to get rid of it (Mainly because of the manual lol).

I'm still in 2 minds but if a conversion came along cheap i'd def consider it.

is there any way to make the auto put more power down faster without the conversion??

Lower the diff ratio and do a shift kit, they're your other options.

There is a thread on here that tells you how to make one yourself.
I'm sure one of the guys here knows where the thread is, or you can try doing a search on shift kits.

castlegreyskull, when I move to Kurri, I'll show you my Fairmont V8 thats been manualised. I can give you a run down of the pros and cons and how I did it.

I'd recommend it but only if it's done properly otherwise you will be disapointed. Expect to pay a premium too mate, around $2500 if you do it yourself. Remember, $2500 can get your fairlane going pretty hard with your auto too.
