i think the typhoon is to expensive for what it is. i would prefer a XR6T and spend the extra 20+ grand on making it move!! |

It's expensive, but only because it is quick.. That and it's covered by FPV/Ford if anything goes wrong anyway. Modifying an XR6T will void warranty.

true. and thats one of the reasons i bought the GT-P .
but ford wont cover it if you break it ripping skids!! when i broke my first CV joint at 400 ks FPV asked if i was driving the car hard. i told them 'f**k yeh' i bought a GT not a fairmont ghia! they covered it but i reakon they had someone check the tyres first. |

i work at a ford dealer as most of u prolly know by now. and after having driven everything from a manual XT sedan to an auto GT-P i'd definatly have to say manual. The auto in the BA's is good dont get me wrong, but the 6 speed is a deadly box. Only driven one so far (Velocity XR6 Turbo) but it definatly is the pick of them.

ok well im down to two no the GT-P or a heavily modified XR6T - the GT-P though i want the Herrod sure shift and the quad exhausts I dont really drag anyone much anymore so im startin to lean more to the luxury performance side so might go the GT-P

You can get the XR6T with the Lux Pack. That would make them very close in terms of luxury. And anyway, you'll prolly start modding either car anyway.

GT-P then. Herrod modifcations through many dealers doesn't void warranty..

The GT-P sounds pretty awesome, but am I the only one who thinks that the GTmk1 wheels look better than the GT-P ones?

the GT-P is a nice car it feels strong and holds the road very well. dont know about the Herrod exhaust i think its a lot of money for a peice of stainless steel wrapped around a muffler. i got a cat back system installed for under $500 nice note out the back and quiet when your cruising. |

I'd go the GT.... well I just did actually!
I looked at the GT-P and in reality its a poofed up GT with additional stuff beyond the Brembo brakes which you can get on the GT anyway. The only thing I wish I had got though was the leather interior. I've only done 800 K's so far and are over the moon with it this car Anyone looking for the best deal in WA should go to ParkFord and ask for Alan. Tell him Allan (me) sent you and I'll bet he'll give you the best deal you've been offered yet - no shoit! I use to once own a XW Phase 1 GT, but this BF GT is as you may expect in a whole new class of it own I got the 6 speed auto, and no regrets... dont knock em till you've driven a GT with one, their absolutly world class.

im not knocking the product but im not sure where ford are heading with that motor its an undersquare motor (longer stroke than bore) yet they dont produce any torque till 3000rpm then all hell breaks loose the old 5 litre smokes them off the line and ts50s beat them 1/4 mile if i had the money i reckon i would wait and see whats round the corner heard in the states they de-stroke them to 5.0l and they rev to bits nothing sounds like a V8 at high revs

I'd go a GT.
In my opinion, they have more street cred and are cheaper than a GT-P with the same mechanical package. Although if it were ME, I'd buy a Typhoon. But if you're in the market for a GT, then a Typhoon isn't really going interest you... |

Would any of you like to comment on benifits of using a K&N air filter compared to the fatory paper unit? Also, would it be of any benifit installing a larger throttle body

In my opinion, the $100+ for a K&N is an absolute waste of money. It makes NO noticeable difference, in terms of performance and really only gives you a "warm and fuzzy" feeling, knowing that you have a K&N filter in the box... |
