Lucky me to start with already has a 185kw version.
Today I got the race series under drive pullys fitted at BPT. Terry running around like a blue a*** fly answering phones and s**t and at some points on the phone while working on the car!!
Also got a 75mm throttle body and EGR spacer fitted. Thanks to the damn yanks its not as quite bolt on as you would think. Terry again doing a great job.

The XR8 now revs very freely indeed and doesnt seem to run out of puff at higher revs.
Its a little harder now to try and not speed but all in all I'm very happy with the work and the end product.
Top work.

More mods to come in the future after I do more overtime at work to pay for it.

The under drive pullys drive the accessories (alternator, waterpump, power steering and air con) slower. By driving them slower you dont lose as much energy from the engine, so effectively it gives power back to the engine.

The EGR spacer recirculates exhaust gas back into the intake for emmission control (environmentally friendly type s**t). Because the throttle body bolts to that you upgrade both to the same size. Hardly worth upgrading one and still having the restriction.
Which is why my MAF will be upgraded soon. Its freakin small at 55mm diameter.

does driving the alternater and water pump slower reduce there effectiveness?

im guessing it would... if you dont give it a good run i reckon you would have quite a few flat batteries...

There must be more to it than that.....can't see that making any difference, usually people fit smaller pulleys to altenators etc to stop them getting damaged by constant high RPM use, such as the xygtho bathurst cars used to run smaller pulleys as the altenator used to spin too fast when the thing was going down conrod at 140mph....

Also the water pump will cavitate on a lot of cars when spun too fast, solution fit smaller pulley or cut every second blade of the water pump, or fit a custom high rpm impella to the pump!

So I cant see the pulleys making more power, I would say they are designed to allow the engine to rev harder without damaging the accessories 8-)

the idea is to free up the load on the crank caused by the accessories.
by changing the ratio of the pulleys the crank is under less load and hence will rev easier, and gain back some lost power

Would love to see that dyno tested......how much are these pulleys, and what claims do the makers make as to power gains???

Has anyone done a back to back dyno run with em??? If there are any gains I would put them on my own el xr8, But I seriously doubt they will do anything that you could notice driving the car, apart from making your headlights dim and wipers slow on a rainy winters night....

But I am interested in any info and feed back from people who have spend the $$$and now have NRMA on fast dail on there mobile

dude, google :)

http://www.marchperf.com/superford1.html

ive got the one pulley kit on my car.. (and as such it needs a slightly shorter serp belt) and i noticed the difference..

it basicly spins the accessories a little bit slower, which puts less drag on the motor.

Yes it would have to. But everything is still within tolerance. It wont hurt your accessories or affect your driving (apart from having more power).
It doesnt run any hotter, make the steering harder, have reduced voltage etc that I can see.
