You can easily get the Windsor sounding like a holden V8 if not better. Its all in the choice of mufflers. You just want a straight through designed muffler, lukey sound good, so do redback I have been told but if you want the best sound go for the stainless magnaflow's they are damn expensive but sound awesome. If you have the stock exhaust system it would be a good idea to replace the whole system as it is quite restrictive. Lukey do a nice off the shelf 3" system which does sound very good and is fairly cheap. |

I favour the Lukey sound too. I've had Lukeys on three cars and have been rapt in the sound of each, a 253 Kingy, XH 4.0 I6 and my EL 5.0 V8.
All have been straight through, Lukey Ultraflow.

Sorry guys, i should have given more information. Its a EL 5.0, Genie Extractors, and a redback 2 1/2 inch cat back. But i think standardish muffler.

How many mufflers/resonators. Often if you have a front muffler and rear resonator if you remove the rear one it gets a lot better sound. I have a 3" system now but when I had the 2.5" one, the lukey glass packed straight through muffler sounded really nice. |

You want sound? If your a bodgy bastard like me you should just drop the system off after the first muffler. That will open her up. Too bad about the resonances on part throttle let alone the petrol fumes entering the cabbin.

if you got an ef/el with the muffler behind the rear bar, you can buy a piece of 2.5 or 3 inch that goes from the first muffler to the tip.
you'll pick up a better note and louder sound.

genie S/Steel turbo I have two 2 1/2 on a 351 and it's not obtrusive and a very sweet not all the way through the revs. Normal mild steel muflers do rust out.
PS they are shinny to |

GONZO mufflers are the best by far.
