Ok wanted to ask,im gathering info and parts to do a V8 conversion on my ED falcon. What i want to know is there much work in converting the multiribbed belt to the older A section belt.
I only going to run the power steering and the alternator.I know i will have to replace the alternator with one with a simialr body to the earlier windsor styled ones (also a higher amp rated alternator too..Also the brackets will have to be changed.Seen the brackets on ebay. Also i would have to change the power steer pump/and bracketing....I want to run a p/s pump like on the 4L ea to au falcons.Just make up new power steering lines.. Also changing the pullies, seen these on ebay too,not badly priced. Main reason i mentioned this is i want to later run gilmer drives and also cut down on weight at the front of the engine... I will be also running thermo fans. Am i missing anything???Has anyone done this before???Any pics people care to post upp..... Cheers Bryan

Well I wouldn't because the serpentine is a far superior system and the cast ally brackets aren't really very heavy.
If you do change you'll need an early standard rotation timing cover and water pump. These stick out much further than what you have now but you can get a short setup(cover and pump) from ford racing. |
