Im new to the forum so id like to start by saying hi to everyone! :D
heres some pics of my XR8.
Ive got a few plans for this puppy fairly soon but im new to all this.
I was thinking of air induction, headers and high flow cats ( its already got a cat back exhaust) cams and valve springs.
Would this be a good combo to start with or is there any other things anyone else could recommend?
Im a budget of about 6k.
Cheers fellas!

Nice car mate.
Yeah that is what most people usually start off with. Cam, extractors+ high flow cat, air intake.
Depends what you want to do with the car.

well id like to track it every now and then but i drive the car nearly everyday (business car) so i would like it to still be easy to drive.
What type of diff upgrade would be good?
If i am right there are diffs that are more for drags and big launches and theres others for track? Whats a good diff ratio and can it be fitted into the original diff housing?

i was looking at blowers but dont you have to do some work to the engine as well to handle all that extra power??
Ive seen the eaton blowers which would take it up to high 200kw's.

Stick with a NA setup as its going to be your daily, 6 g you can do abit of work but all depends how far you want to go. If i were you id look into the exhaust and induction first then capa flash tuner to tie it all together and then look into heads. I think with that budget you can get urself AFR heads installed with all little mods and tuned and your car would be sweet.

Speak to Joe from creasant motorsports as he has a AU xr8 with capa flash and i think he has 180rwkw at the moment and he is in Liverpool.

Nah, you don't need any engine mods to run a blower though.
If you can get some aftermarket headers, and you already have the cat back exhaust, then there's nothing else you really need.
A nice cheap Powerdyne or Vortech unit would see you well into the 200+rwkw mark on the AU XR8.

is there much differences?

Very nice, I'm a big fan of Blueprint AU XR's, is it auto or manual?

its a manual. no power reading for it yet but besides the cat back exhaust its stock as a rock.
Managed to find one which is fully optioned in a manual so I was pretty lucky.

Hey dave you look like the person to ask, i have a set of windows i want to put in my ed but they are lightly tinted, i want to remove the tint before i put them in and get them tinted 15% when theyre in, whats the best way to remove the old tint?

Im replacing my windows because they have that common scratching marks right down the middle, wil light scratches show up if i get my windows tinted as dark as 15%???

if its the door windows all you'll need is a sharp razor blade and some soapy water. if theres a back windscreen then you'll need a heat gun (hair dryer will do but takes a lil longer). For the door windows just spray the soapy water on the tint and get the razor blade and in the top corner just cut into the film so it peels it off a little then take hold of the lifted film and rip it off. repeat till all tint is removed. There will be left over adhesive stuck to the window but all you need to do is wet it and scrape it off with the razor. try get one with the handle so it makes it easier. costs about 5 bucks at bunnings.
