{USERNAME} wrote: By the way the Shroud bolt on v8's are right hand thread, right. It said in the manual that v8's are right hand and 6's are left? That means I crack it by going anticlockwise or left to undo, right? Not the shroud bolts but the clutch to water pump bolt on the i6 is lh and rh on the 8 |

you should take advantage of having the clutch fan removed and install a set of thermos, i know it doesnt help you removing it but just a quick suggestion,

I think the local ford block is smoking something illegal! Swapping to thermo's will be one of the best mods you have ever done. Cheers ToranaGuy

Could be worse, the brother -in-law's XR8 sheared the bolt when we tried to remove his balancer!

Or you could go to undo the balancer and once it cracks loose, the bolt pretty well slides out. Whoever did the previous work stripped the thread inside the crank and used steel putty or some crap to hold it in place. New crank, thanks!
Buuuuuuuuuuuut, every time I read the title of this thread, I want to hurl abuse at the OP in so many ways. I understand the frustration, but if you do s**t properly from the start and get the tools you need to do the job the right way, it needn't be such a melodrama. Sounds like you need to go on a holiday or something, as I don't think it's just the car giving you the s**t...

Grab a angle grinder and cut the f**k stupid fan off, throw it in the bin and fit thermos.

if your having trouble working on an early 90's RWD car you should stay well away from late 90's FWD stuff, every job pretty much starts with "drop subframe and driveline

Ive removed four clutch fans (on 6cyls which are harder) and never needed the special tool nor has it taken all day to do.
Sounds like you are a bit of a drama queen, maybe you should stick to something thats a little easier for you like solitaire.

Sounds like you are a bit of a drama queen, maybe you should stick to something thats a little easier for you like solitaire. Maybe you should stop trying to stick your d**k in your own a** and f**k off. Just a thought. And yeah all Jap cars need "jap hands"to work on them but Fords were always easy to fix, thats why alot of people bought them. They were tough, easy to fix and cheap parts. I just cant work out why with my model of Lane you need to make things so much harder than it needs to be. If it was not for that bar under the harmonic I could raise the front on stands and get a rachet onto it with no drama what so ever. If it was not for the fact the shroud is huge, access to the clutch bolt would be easier. Ford had obviously woke up to the fact they were not making money on after sale care and made things more difficult for that reason. Yeah there are harder things and cars, but like it has been said all cars are different . My lanes Clutch fan just seems to have a gremlin. Also yeah f**k wit I have done a clutch fan on an Xf 6 without the tool before and to tell you honestly it was a s**t load easier than the one Im doing now......... So maybe its not as easy as you say, but thanks for your waste of time input man, you are a legend in your own mind. |

If the biggest whinge you can come up with is a pissy little fan with a stuck bolt and a little bar 'in the way' you must live a pathetic little life. Get some real problems, ones that people might actually give a s**t about.

Raven - If you think fraud Australia should have designed the car better.. look at every other car on the road that's newer. You obviously haven't worked on many late model cars? Car's are getting more electronics, smaller and much more complicated.. and so obviously their going to be harder to work on.
I'd love to see you change the tensioners on a modular 5.4, and that's just getting started.

Just f**k off man, seriously nobody gives a f**k about how tough you think you are behind you mummy's computer. If you cant post constructively to a problem I obviously had that you in your infinate splender might not have had, dont post. Get a hobby retard |
