i had my xr8 while i was sitll on my p's and never had any problems with the cops. isnt it a power to weight ratio thing these days as there seems to be alot of p platers driving turbos and v8's now

ive seen turbo falcons on p's, a guy i know had a 200kw silvia on p's. felony had a 350hp falcon on his p's for 6 months no hassles (hes 22 now so wasnt long ago) lots of insane cars out there on ps. the best one of all time is cameron cloke(plays for collingwood) he went to my school. he got a ba xr6(non t i think) and he got pulled over for driving without his p plates, doing 180, and driving a car which is over the limit! needless to say he wasnt happy and TAC being a major sponsor of collingwood, he got fined by collingwood too. lost his license for 6 months. now he still drives the car with no p plates but now its got big black stripes down it (cobra style) on a orange ba falcon.

its power to weight... AND litre to tonne
so yeh if it doesnt pull enough watts... it may have too big of an engine? any how well done mate im guessing you got alot of money to get an xr8 as a 17yo... just good luck keeping the money got my car, and i have found i have no money, like where the f**k does it go and fuel... being an 8 and all....

needs a power to weight ratio of 125kw/tonne and 3.5litres per tonne.
i dont know how many kw the au xr8 makes or how much it weighs... anyone wanna poat it?

He hasn't got a problem to worry about with the cops.
I don't know if it much worse over the Eastern side of Melb, but i haven't been pulled over yet in my car (touch wood), they all seem to pre-occupy themselves with pulling over Commonwhore drivers. Cause there are so many d***head ones around my area. Hopefully all goes well for you mate, enjoy the car! Dave |

the power to weight has to be over 8
and the v8 power on the 6 weight its 8.27 so hes fine! i shoulda gotten a el xr6 now that i think about it....
