I have a AU2 v8 I have had it for 3 month. It has a little miss under slight load. In the morning it acts like a wild pig until it warms up. I took it back to ford and they told me it was normal. It is a manual.
Can sameone give me a area to start look for the problem I was thinking injectors.

Coolant temp sensor ??
Check codes?? I assume they did???
Going by the Ford adds who say they do wheel alignments by black tyre marks on concrete ??
I assume ?? They did the same test by "looking" at engine???
Clean injectors, clean maf, check inlet temp sensor..
Check TPS sensor ???
Check or replace leads and plugs....

Check compression?? Could be broken valve spring ??? Being manwell or auto has NOTHING to do with it...
Typical symptom of weak spark....

sounds like a similar prob to my dads au.
iddle with a miss but give it a few revs shed come good wound up being a lead. new set of spark leads then it was good as gold.
hope this helps. dont pass out by the price of them though.
i almost did, hunted around after market ones for them.

my xr had the same problem when i bought it. wouldn't run when it was cold (had to hold the throttle open slightly till it warmed up) had a massive misfire when under any sort of load.

anyway i gave it a major service changed leads, plugs dizzy cap, and rotor button and now shes all sweet.

but from what your describing it sounds like its due to a weak spark. check if there are any burn marks on the leads at all and also do a resistance check

failing this check spark plugs dizzy cap and rotor button

Check and clean maf also ???
Leads etc should be replaced as normal service...
Of say ?? Every 80,000 kmrs....
Check EGR for coolant leaks.. They can corrode and leak coolant into manifold / engine ???
