heya guys,

I currently got a I6 falcon and was looking at gettin a 5.0L NL Fairlane. But i only want a V8 to beat my mates ricer Rx7 running on 14psi. Anywayz, whats the max power people around here are getting with the 5.0L's without blowing them. also, what times are people running with like 3.45LSD's and the regular auto's.

Cheers everyone

I'd imagine 200rwkw's would be the most you'd see out a 5.0L, but that's a fairly serious 302 (alloy heads, good size cam etc), most common outputs are between 160-180rwkw's with cam, decent heads, roller rockers etc.

XR8chic pulled over 200rwkw in her ED XR8, was around 208rwkw if i remember rightly. But that was a serious 5L, she did basically everything you can do to a 5.0L before stroking/blowing.

dont worry about the Windsor blocks mate, they sound like a V8 but they run like a slug, if you want a Ford V8 that can out run an RX7 down the strip i might suggest you go for an 'X' series car with either a 302 or a 351 Cleveland V8 those Blocks are VERY workable, combine that with a lightweight body say like an XD/E Falcon and you have a track attack weapon hungry for a meal of rice

That would have to be the most worthless piece of text typed ever.

Go to The Corral, or to 5.0 Mustang, and see what the windsors can do.
I believe 5 of the top 6 engines at engine masters were windsor based too....

I have both Clevos and Windsors, and both can run bloody hard.
