Hey Mate,

I've got the pair of AFR185's for sale @ $2400

Also got a 347 stroker kit, that should fix all your bottom end issues. $1100 for Scat Crank and Rods.

i have also been looking at new heads for my fairlane,
have been looking at the range of heads out there and its hard to choose, why do most people that do head upgrads choose the GT40P's.. cheap??
has anyone used the Edelbrock RPM SBF Head with 1.90 intake?

the queston mostly is what am i ment to look for in a head that i would mostly use for off street racing to a casual drive ?

gt40p are most commonly found on the AU 175-220KW engines. No real comparison to the AFR's.. but with some port work you might strangle a few KW out of them still :)

I think about $800-1000 for a pair of them, plus porting/machining costs.

I picked up a pair a while back and then resold them to get the AFR's once I realised the extra potential available.

Maybe you'd be best just sticking to a cam change and roller rockers and see how you enjoy that. Pretty good bang for buck mods. Following tha tyou could upgrade to explorer manifold and 65mm TB and MAF. If that still doesnt satisfy, new heads will bring a fair increase.

Manifold $490 exactly
65mm throttle body and spacer - $195 exactly
MAF - dunno, near or just under about $200 I'd think.

A manifold change simply requires relocating the air temp sensor. A throttle body requires widening the bolt holes on the TPS a fraction and either bypassing your EGR or honing out your existing EGR spacer to 65mm. That's about it.

what cam change and roller rockers would suit my best then for bang for buck?

Crane 2030/2031 is good. Some also like the Trickflow TFS1.

Yella Terra 1.6 or 1.7 rollers are generally a good go.
