I am in the USA and I have a 1996 Mustang Cobra. I have been building a 5.4 DOHC for the past 2 years, gathering parts here and there as i can afford them. Here is the breakdown on my parts list. I have several parts i will be adding in the future, but as of this minute my wallet is begging me to ease up on it a little.
2001 Navigator Block 2001 Navigator Heads (Ported to the max) 2001 Navigator Crank Manly H-Beam Rods Probe SRS .20 over Flat top 11.77:1 Compression Comp blower cams I cant remember the grind number right now) degreed in according to the spec card DSS Billet Main Girdle MMR Oil pump, Billet gears and Teflon coated case. ARP bolts all throughout Comp Adjustable Cam gears Boss 290 Intake (Modified to accept an Accufab 80mm Fox Mustang throttle body) Spec aluminum flywheel Bassani mid length ceramic coated headers Bassani 2.5 inch stainless steel exhaust with no catalytic converters and an x-shaped crossover The engine has been machine and assembled by a local reputable machine shop. Since the US has been cheated by Ford and only given the 5.4 in trucks, the extremely limited 2000 Cobra R, Ford GT or in the shelby. The only info readily available on HP/TQ levels are on supercharged cars that i wont be able to afford for at least 10 more years. How much rear wheel HP/TQ should i expect from this combination through a T45 manual transmission. Thank you in advance! My car came with a T45, since it is in good working order and my budget is pretty tight im going to use it until i can afford a T56.

Got any flow figures for the heads?
Oh and btw A T45 is way stronger than a T5. |

Unfortunately I do not have any flow numbers. I would imagine a few more CFM than Navi heads. I want to port the intake also, but I dont have access to someone with enough knowledge of the intake for me to trust. Since these things are around $2000.00 dollars and VERY difficult to get over here in the states I'm just going to run as is.
How well do these intakes handle forced induction? T5 is a dirty word around my house lol. I went through 5 of them in my 1994 5.0 Cobra. T5's and slick DO NOT mix. http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/cam- ... d=962&sb=0 These are a set of cams that came with the old motor I removed and sold when times got tough in the past. I am using these only because I already have them and can afford another set. These are the pistons I am using. http://www.probeindustries.com/Ford_5_4 ... /13718.htm I would like to stress that i KNOW there are much better components available, and I have a slightly miss matched combo here but this is best I can afford/come up with. |
