This is damn good value. They seem to make around 390 rwhp in the new stang which makes the 412 a little understated and the torque is excellent too. They do of course share the modular bolt pattern which makes them an easy fit to our transmissions:wink:

They sure are interesting, they have Balls and in the 2011 Shelby Mustang they have the Supercharger on them @500bhp.
I did read a while ago that there is also a 5.8 ltr in the Coyote series that MAY be the engine for the coming GTHO. |

I think they release the new FPV coyote's in October but I will be dead set surprised if they try to revive the GTHO label.

in the street fords mag i have from a while back it says its smaller than the boss engines..plus its too compact for a stroker kit so itll stay 5 litres....also they actually thinking a twin turbo for the gtho if they bring it back...

Do some research, why would Ford/FPV Twin Turbo the GTHO when FPV's are going to be factory S/C? Also, Coyote can go to 330ish Cubes.

unfortunately a 5.8 is not possible because they are basically a bigger bore 4.6 which means the same small bore spacing of the modular engine. They are physically about the same as a 4.6' 8.93" deck vs 10.07" deck for a 5.4, plus they have more compact heads. Ford racing already has a whipple kit in the works for it.
You'll need these bits to make it work too.... http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/pa ... ield=12284 |

Before long you'll be able to get these engines under 5k U.S. Plus 1 and bit K for the PCM and harness and it's a pretty good deal for 400ish hp and better torque than current modulars. Plus it's nice and light! An EF already has a better front end than the new mustang and of course it's a live axle like the stang too. If I had an EF with a good body and no other projects I'd do it.

Second hand parts are fairly easy to come by when you need them. New parts are also not too expensive. A custom project like this would be insured with someone like Shannons for an agreed value that wouldn't really cost much more if any than say a BA XR8 insured for the same money. Then again, this post might be slightly biased, coming from someone who own's 3 boxcar's. Cheers ToranaGuy

im a hardcore EF/EL fan and i carnt see it being much cheaper than doing a Dart block windsor build as by the time u get the engine, PCM & fabricate mounts, extractors, gearbox adaptor, & wire it all in i can only see it being about 3k cheaper.
For a hardcore pushrod fan id be more inclined to go windsor
