Hey boys hows it goin?

Iv got a 2000 Au fairlane GHIA V8, n found this forum new..

Im 17 (yes i got me L's :| ) and live near the CBD.

I was wondering where/how much i can get a cold air intake kit from/for?

Also i came across one of the sponcers selling kink spings that lower the car MAX 50mm... i was after around 100mm.. got links?

Here are some pics of my ride :p

Nice car for a learner :) Anyway for a cold air kit just use the tickford XR8/XR6 snorkle (the fairlane may already have this though). Have a look at the airbox snorkle, if it has tickford wings molded in there then thats all you need, otherwise just get one from ford for about $40. Add a K&N or BMC panel filter and you have tons of flow, however on a stock engine you may not feel a lot of difference.

As for lowered springs, 50mm is generally the legal limit in most states. Going to 100mm lowered springs will give you pretty lousy ride quality plus draw alot of attention from the cops.

If you want your car really low, try asking for Super-super lows, or they may call them Ultra lows.
As long as your exhaust isn't hanging down too low underneath, it should sit just on the legal limit at 100mm from the ground. But as EDXR8 said, it is a pretty bumpy ride, even with shocks to suit the springs.
The best bet is to get Superlows, i'd say you would be pretty happy with them!

Yeah just the flat panel, no point putting in a pod IMO, it takes a lot of messing around and unless you have a fairly worked engine there is no advantage. I have attached a pic of the AU tickford snorkle.

sweet as ride!
go with the Tickford AU Series III XR8 air intake snorkel for now.
If you do engine work and upgrade the rest of the intake piping maybe later on down the track your V8 may like the larger Aunger or SS snrokel, but for now the Tickford should feed it all the air it needs - spend the money you save on a high flow air filter (K&N is very popular on ehre)

The ebay one is just a AU XR8 snorkle with a coloured badge, nothing different. LOL @ 12rwkw increase he claims!!!

As for the panel filter, you just get the EB-AU panel filter. K&N, BMC or Finerfilter all do decent filters. K&N's cost around $120, Finerfilters $80 and not too sure on the BMC costing but I believe they are fairly expensive.
