HI All
I just bought a au XR8 manual and have questions
The dealer put in regular fuel not 95 is this ok?
I have a K&N panel air filter is it worth putting on?
I have back lash from the diff is this normal?
looking forward to your input Thanks

my xr8 had reg fuel in it from the dealer too, i run it on v-power now just bcos..
and there will be no harm in putting in the K+N filter, in fact you will gain a small increase in HP and throttle response..
re: the diff im not quite sure what backlash is.. sorry.

There should be about 7 - 9 thou backlash at the crownwheel. if you can turn your tailshaft a fair way then i would suggest to get it checked as the pinion bearings way be worn and i think it would cost around 700 - 800 to recon

check the control arm bushes (think thats what they called) if the rubbers are stuffed this will make a knock sound when u let the clutch out due to the small amount of movement.

Unless its under warranty. I wouldn't be going to Ford to get it fixed. They'll charge an arm and a leg for anything they do!

It is the diff. when I drive it slow it is a real beast to drive. Not like my wifes focus.
Has any one take off the last muffler on a standed exhaust. If so does it sound good. I do not what to go a full sports at this time.
