Hi Fellas,

Just bought an EB Fairmont with a 5litre in it. The car was owned by an elderly man who drove from melbourne to geelong racking up the K's to about 320,000. The car is on gas and drives smooth as far from what i can tell.

Where do we go from here, well im not too mechanically minded but i can do basic oil services, etc

Does anyone know any good mechanics in melbourne nothern suburbs (epping, thomastown, roxburgh park,etc etc) that deal with these cars for example if i wana work up the engine a lil or give it a full rebuild with a few mods to give it more power, etc etc.

might i suggest first thing you do is change the oil, filters, spark plaugs and leads. this can be done yourself with the help of a workshop manual

also check out the garage threads, plenty of V8 builds on her to give you idea on things

then post some pics on here and let us have a looksee....

From what Ive been reading on the forums seems most of you fellas do the work yourselves and not bother with mechanics is that correct??

most things can be done your self.
start with an exhaust and a good set of springs and shocks, but dont lower it so its sitting on the bump stops, the police love that
